The Woodland Vision
The Allt Llwyn Dyfrion woodland is owned by the Nant-y-Cwm Community Group (NyCCG), a separate company to the School, but with objects aligned with the School.
The woodland is freely accessible to the public, but the public cannot just carry out work in the woodland as there are legal liability issues to be considered.
Any work carried out in the woodland must be notified to, and agreed by, NyCCG.
What the NyCCG wants
The NyCCG directors would appreciate members of the Nant-y-Cwm School Community joining their company as members. Then working parties can be organised under their auspices to carry out work in the woodland. Any work in the woodland should benefit the community as a whole.
Details of the woodland and a membership application form are available here (a Word document download).
Applications should be made to the company secretary, Dave Hoyle, at davehoyle35@hotmail.com.
What Nant-y-Cwm Steiner School wants
The trustees of the School would like volunteers from the School community to form a School support team to begin to help in the management of the woodland. This work would really benefit the School.
We particularly want to invite someone onto the board of trustees to help facilitate this, as well as someone experienced in woodland management to agree to be a facilitator of the School Woodland support team. The team can then develop a team plan to form part of the School Development Plan.
Initial expressions of interest should be made to trustee@nant-y-cwm.co.uk.
The woodland is a significant asset for the School as well as the local community and will continue to provide the School with a valuable resource to further the Waldorf education to our pupils.
Thank you.
