Class Teacher, Safeguarding Lead, Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNco)

I qualified as a Class Teacher in 2012 and moved to Pembrokeshire (from Bath) to take up the position of Class Teacher at Nant-y-Cwm School. Pembrokeshire has a slower pace of life, with beautiful beaches and countryside, and I wanted to raise my children here. Having been born in Haverfordwest, I am very happy indeed to be “home” and now live with my two young children in Mynachclogddu, just down the road from school.
In addition to being a Class Teacher, one of my roles at school is working with children with additional learning needs. I trained with the Steiner Waldorf Association for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SWASEND) in Forest Row to become an Additional Learning Needs Coordinator. This is a particular area of interest for me; I am passionate about supporting children schoolwide to access their education to the fullness of their capacity, and encouraging teachers to look for ways to become more inclusive in their classrooms.
In my spare time I practise meditation and enjoy looking after (and playing with) my children, growing things in my vegetable garden, walking and cooking.
