Kindergarten Assistant

In my 20s I moved to a magical place called Esalen in California, which is where I first encountered education that was not mainstream. When my first daughter was born, we were lucky enough to find a Steiner parent-and-child group, which really inspired us as a family. We were living in Bath at the time, and I followed Joy de Berker’s year-long course ‘Education for a Happy Childhood’, and was inspired to set up a home-education group for families keen to find alternatives to the state school system. Two more children, and a few more years, and we moved to an eco-community in Pembrokeshire. All three of my children have been educated at Nant-y-Cwm – my eldest says it’s the best thing that ever happened to her. I have been working as a kindergarten assistant since 2013. I run a smallholding, I adore my cats and ducks, and most of all I love enjoying Pembrokeshire’s glorious beaches with my kids.
