Michaelmas is the first festival of our school year and celebrates the harvest, human courage, and the triumph of light over darkness. The Archangel Michael symbolizes a great force for good triumphing over evil, often portrayed as a dragon. Michaelmas is a reminder of the spiritual in our world, of our ability to do good. As the days get colder and shorter, we come together to give thanks, celebrate the fruits of summer and make ourselves strong in the face of the oncoming winter.
We will be going ahead with the Michaelmas festival this year, observing social distancing. Due to the Covid restrictions this celebration will be held within classrooms. Each classroom will have a ‘feast’ of a harvest themed lunch, we will not be sharing this food. Unfortunately parents cannot be invited to partake this year.
