In the last year at Nant-y-Cwm school, Class 8 finish their year by going on a trip together, performing a play and presenting a project each student has completed with a mentor of their choice.
This year has been very uncertain with lockdown, homeschooling and limited possibility of school trips. Despite all the obstacles, this year’s Class 8 have managed to do all three!
Students presented their projects to the school and families on subjects ranging from constructing surf boards and an attic bed/desk, to printmaking, from mountain bike trails and filming to upcycling clothes and pattern design.
Following on, the class performed their teacher John Davies’s adaptation of Twelfth Night twice, with animations the students created in the classroom.
Finally this week, the class set off to Snowdon near Bala Lake for their much awaited trip together. The class has been fundraising for the last few years with non plastic Christmas crackers, fruit smoothies, calendar sales, sponsored litter pick and tickets sales for their play.
