The beginnings of our brash hedge up in the Nant-y-Cwm garden. A brash hedge is made of small twiggy or thorny branches, also known as brush.
Class 4&5 were joined by parent volunteer Rick in their gardening lesson yesterday (Weds) to start weaving branches between the stakes. There’s lots more brash needed, and more work to do before this hedge is complete!
The brash hedge that has been laid will create a dense habitat with decomposing wood, making a great wildlife home for invertebrates, mosses, fungi, small mammals and birds.
